Most people who are players, and who are familiar with Yamaha electronic keyboard products, know about the quality and sound of Yamaha digital pianos. In the past few years, the cost of owning a digital piano with weighted action has plummeted to an all-time low.

Yamaha YDP223 Digital Piano

Graded Hammer Action emulates the action of a grand piano - heavier in the bass and lighter in the treble areas of the keyboard (on a grand piano, the hammers get thicker as you move from treble to bass). The earlier digital piano models certainly didn't have this feature!

The YDP223 has 14 high quality voices for you to choose from. These include 2 Grand Pianos, 2 Electric Pianos, 2 Church Organs, 2 Harpsichords, Vibraphone, 2 Strings, Jazz Organ, Choir and Guitar. And you can combine two sounds at once, like Piano and Strings. For your learning and listening pleasure, you'll find 50 built-in songs. There's even a songbook included too. And finally, there is a matching padded bench.

The Yamaha YDP series of digital pianos also includes two other models, the YDP323 and the YDP213. They are less feature rich, and do not have the sound of the YDP223, but they offer a lot of bang for the buck!

Yamaha YDP323
The Yamaha YDP323 digital keyboard uses Yamaha's renowned AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) tone generation technology and Stereo Sampling. When you play a key on the YDP323, what you hear is a "sample", or digital recording, of the same note on a high quality concert grand piano. This exceptionally realistic, natural acoustic sound makes the Yamaha YDP323 ideal for anyone wanting true piano tone.

Like the YDP223, the YDP323 has three pedals - damper, soft, and sostenuto - to let you perform more expressively. Yamaha YDP213
The YDP213 is the most affordable digital piano in the Yamaha YDP series. It has the expressive GHS (Graded Hammer Standard effect) keyboard. Unlike conventional digital piano keyboards that use springs or dampers to simulate piano feel, the GHS keyboard uses weights and mechanical linkages to provide a new level of realism. You'll notice the difference it makes as soon as you start playing.

The keyboard on the Yamaha YDP213 even has variable touch sensitivity. Select the hard, medium or soft setting to match your playing style or finger strength. Turn off sensitivity for a fixed response setting, ideal when playing the organ. Other features include 64 note polyphony, 6 voices, dual voice mode, metronome, and digital reverb.
